The Best Thing In the World

There is nothing better in the world than being a daddy.  Words can’t describe the joy I felt the first time I held my daughter after she was born.  It’s truly amazing the unconditional love that you feel immediately when your child is born, and that love is something that grows stronger with each passing day.

Since the day she was born my life has revolved around my daughter.  My mornings don’t officially begin until I get a big hug and a kiss from my little girl, and after a long day at work there’s nothing better than having her run into my arms and getting another big hug and hearing about her day.  It’s been so much fun watching her grow into the little lady that she is, and it’s hard to believe that she is going to be starting kindergarten already next year!

I love being a dad, and I just found out yesterday that my wife is pregnant again!  Over the years my wife and I have thought about having another child, and I’ve always had a fear that I wouldn’t be able to love another child as much as I love my daughter.  When my wife and I decided a couple of months ago to try to have another child I have to admit that I still had that fear, but as I’m writing this now I can honestly say that fear has subsided.

The excitement that I’m feeling right now is such a rush.  I love seeing my wife so happy.  The reaction my daughter had when we told her that she was going to be a big sister was so sweet.  She has already told us she wants a brother AND a sister, and she has already told us what they want their names to be.  🙂

Being a dad is the best thing in the world, and I am so looking forward to being able to introduce my daughter to her new brother or sister.  That day can’t come soon enough.
